Dr. Doug Broome
Bro. Doug was called to serve as Senior Pastor of FBC Natchez in March 2008. He has served over thirty years in pastoral ministry, having also pastored churches in Brookhaven, Waynesboro, and Yazoo City. Bro. Doug holds an undergraduate degree from Mississippi College and Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. An avid reader, runner, and cyclist, Bro. Doug is also an accomplished track and cross country coach. Additionally, he is involved in the Natchez community, taking part in local events such as Angels on the Bluff and the Historic Natchez Tableaux. Bro. Doug is joined in ministry by his wife, Gwenette. They have one adult son, Bradley, who lives in the Jackson area. Dr. Broome currently serves as the President of the Mississippi Baptist Convention.
Associate Pastor of Student Ministries
Dan has led the FBC Student Ministry since January 1999. He guides our ministry to middle and high school students and oversees the activities & recreation ministry. Dan holds a Bachelor of Music from Louisiana College and an M.Div. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Before joining the FBC staff, Dan served churches for several years as a Minister of Music and Youth. He is married to Alisa, and they have three children: Andrew, Jonathan, and Rebecca. Dan has a deep love for music and enjoys listening to music and attending Christian concerts. He's also the Natchez 'weather watcher' for one of the Jackson TV stations.
Director of Music Ministries
Director of Children's Ministries
Marlee began serving in the FBC Children's Ministry in January 2012. She initially joined the staff in an interim capacity, then was named full-time Director of Children's Ministries in July 2012. Marlee oversees our ministries to preschoolers and children, ages birth through sixth grade, by helping recruit, equip, and encourage those who teach and serve in each of these areas. She's also passionate about discipling children--whether during a scheduled church program or casually over ice cream. Marlee graduated from Mississippi College with a B.A. in English. Before coming to Natchez, she served a year and a half at The Church on Fillmore in Pheonix, Arizona, serving inner city families and the homeless, while taking seminary classes at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. In her leisure time, Marlee enjoys spending time with her husband, Matthew and their daughter, Harper. She also enjoys swinging, hiking, playing Frisbee, basketball, or soccer, and eating with friends.
Tanya joined the FBC staff as Church Secretary in 2009. She provides administrative and ministry support to the Senior Pastor, maintains our church calendars, and provides vital support to FBC's education ministry. Before joining the FBC staff, Tanya worked for several years as a teacher at Jefferson Street Methodist Preschool and Trinity Episcopal School in Natchez. She has been a member of FBC since 1981. She loves spending time with her three adult children: Michael, Michelle, and Andrew, and her three grandchildren.
Interim Music Secretary
Terry is a longtime member of FBC, and she has served as Music Secretary since February 2016. Her responsibilities include assisting the Minister of Music with Sunday and Wednesday worship services and preparation for choir rehearsals. Terry also serves as Sunday School Director and has served as a Children's Choir Director for many years. Terry is a graduate of Mississippi State University.
Financial/Students & Activities Secretary
Debbie serves as FBC's Financial Secretary, and she also provides administrative support for our Student and Activities Ministries. She has been a member of the church and the staff since 2003; before serving in her current staff role, Debbie served as Music Secretary for 1.5 years. She holds a B.A. in psychology from UL-Monroe. Debbie worked for eighteen years in the travel industry, serving as a manager of several travel agencies as well as an owner/operator of a rental car agency. Debbie is married to Forrest, and they have three children: Ashley, Taylor, and Alex. She enjoys riding motorcycles, reading, and the outdoors.
Nancy serves as our Receptionist. When calling or visiting our offices, she is probably the first voice you hear or the first person to greet you and offer a cup of coffee. Her academic and professional background marks her love for people; she earned a degree in sociology, and she has worked as a social worker and a teacher. She also managed Dunlieth Bed & Breakfast in Natchez for several years. She has been a member of FBC since 1973. She is passionate about teaching women God's Word, leading a women's Sunday School class and a weekly ladies Bible Study in her home. Nancy loves spending time with her two adult children and their families--especially her six grandchildren.
Media Ministry Assistant
Linda has served as our Church Organist since 1994. She provides music for our worship services and choir rehearsals, and she plays for weddings and funeral services as needed for church families. Linda holds a bachelors degree in music education from the University of Southern Mississippi, with major emphasis in organ and minor emphasis in voice and piano. She has served as a public high school music educator, and she has taught music locally at Trinity Episcopal Day School. Linda has also served as an organ and choir master in the Presbyterian Church. Linda and her husband, Frank, have three children and twelve grandchildren. She enjoys music, fishing, baseball, cross-stitch, Bible study, and spending time with her family.
Judy has been a member of FBC and has served as our Church Pianist since 2007. She accompanies the adult choir and leads in worship through the FBC music ministry. Before joining FBC, Judy previously served as the church pianist and children's choir director at Parkway Baptist Church in Natchez. She has been a member of the faculty at Adams County Christian School since 1990. In her leisure time, Judy serves as a cheerleading coach at ACCS, and she enjoys music and spending time with her two adult children and five grandchildren.
Dr. Hal Stewart
Associate Pastor for Discipleship and Education
A life-long member of First Baptist Natchez, Ronnie joined the staff in 2017. After receiving his degree in electronics, Ronnie was employed in construction for 34 years. He is the proud father of 2 daughters and enjoys the outdoors - particularly fishing and camping.
